While new yacht sales have slowed somewhat and new yacht completions reached a record level in 2024, the total number of yachts over 30 metres under construction, whether sold or not, remains largely unchanged as of early 2025, at 692 yachts. This stability is mainly due to an increase in speculative yacht projects started in 2024 compared to previous years. Over half of the 2024 delivered yachts are 24 – 30 meters in length, with 23 of the rest being in the 70+ meters category.
According to the Boat International database, by mid-2024, 1.166 total projects were in biuld or ordered, with the average length of boats under construction being 33.5 meters, and the total length of yachts under construction standing at 45.722 m..
