Substantial reserves of natural gas exist, likely to satisfy energy needs for the next century. With 45% of the world’s reserves are in Russia and Iran, the supply has a high concentration level, leading to classification opportunities. These have been particularly taken advantage of by Russia that has set an extensive pipeline system distributing natural gas in Europe. Still, the regional concentration of gas resources is more diverse, leading to many production and distribution opportunities. Unlike oil, only 36% of the reserves are in the Middle East.
