From Breakbulk to Containerized Commodities

Containerized commodities

The pictures show examples of commodities that used to be shipped and handled as breakbulk (i.e. loose or palletized boxes and bags). However, the past decades have brought rapid containerization of these commodities. The containers are stripped at specialized terminals and warehousing facilities using forklifts, specialized grippers, and conveyor systems. In some cases, like for coffee, the container is tilted to unload its content.
