The top 20 cruise brands, measured by total berth capacity, continue to upgrade their fleets. The number of berths in each cruise vessel is equal to the number of people who can sleep on board. Comparing the evolution of berth capacity over the last decade, the largest cruise brands continue to expand at a faster rate than the smaller lines.

The aggregate cruise ship capacity controlled by the top 10 cruise lines in 2019 was 351,433 berths. In 2026, this aggregate has increased to 455,032 berths. The existing market concentration in the supply of cruises is expected to endure and may even increase in the forthcoming years.
