A port authority is managing assets and relations. Its activities range from operational to strategic issues. Operational issues are obviously related to the day-to-day management of port activities such as vessel scheduling, pilotage, tugs, and security. In contrast, strategic issues pertain to infrastructure development, customer interactions, real estate management, and relations with regulatory and stakeholder agencies and organizations.
