Cruise lines are expanding their target audience, attracting younger age groups, including families and youngsters. While it used to be a market for retired customers (65 years and older), the average age of cruisers was 46.7 in 2018. Just 13% were over 70 years old, and the 65+ years old group accounted for 32% of all persons cruising within the year. A similar picture of cruise passenger age was observed in 2024.
