The Caribbean and the Mediterranean dominate the list of the largest cruise ports. The two largest are turn ports in southern Florida, which is the world’s biggest cruise market. Nassau (Bahamas) is commonly a port of call for most cruises departing from the major turn ports of Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral). Cozumel is a marquee (must-see) port for most Western Caribbean cruises. Freeport (Bahamas), George Town (Cayman Islands), St. Thomas, Philipsburg (Sint Maarten), and Montego Bay (Jamaica) are also marquee Caribbean ports that most itineraries call.
The major Mediterranean cruise ports are turn ports, such as Civitavecchia (Rome) and Barcelona, followed by marquee ports, such as Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, and Venice. The Asian market has shown growth, with Shanghai and Singapore the main turn ports.
