Luggage lay-down areas consume a substantial amount of space, as thousands of luggage items need to be recovered within a short amount of time. Luggage is picked up from cabins and brought to the lay-down areas, where it is sorted by deck and section. Passengers can then retrieve their luggage at a designated area and exit to ground transportation.
