Bomb carts are designed for intra-terminal use allowing a quick turnaround of containers because they are gravity-loaded. There is no latching system (twist locks) and the container is dropped in a casing. For this reason, they cannot be used to carry containers on regular roadways. They can also be used for the storage of heavy container loads since they are the most structurally resilient type of chassis.
