The Panama Canal Railway Company is operated as a subsidiary of the American railway KCS, which is also involved in Mexico. The 75 km corridor links the Atlantic and Pacific sides of the canal in about an hour and a half. It also offers daily passenger services, but its dominant function is carrying double-stacked containers.
